The Industrial Park

The Industrial Park in Lewisporte is fully serviced with an abundance of land with many available lots for small and medium-sized businesses. The Town has plans to expand the Industrial Park.

The Park is located at the entrance to the Town of Lewisporte, 11 km from the Trans Canada Highway, 5 km from a year-round port and 52 km from Gander International Airport.

Currently, there are 11 businesses operating in the Industrial Park. Services provided range from sign manufacturing to small engine repair. The Industrial Park will accommodate any type of business. Customized lot sizing to fit the needs of the enterprise is available, within the certain restriction that may be imposed by the Town Council. The Industrial Park is owned by the Town of Lewisporte with land available at very negotiable rates.

The Town of Lewisporte is centrally located on the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland. Located in scenic Notre Dame Bay, it has been referred to as the “Caribbean of the North” because of its deepwater bays and abundance of islands. Lewisporte is the point of origin for both passenger services and freight shipments between Newfoundland and the coast of Labrador. This is reflected in the Town’s slogan, “Gateway to the North.” Lewisporte’s deepwater port, open year round, has attracted many businesses, including big names from the oil industry. Lewisporte is the offloading center for aviation fuel supplied to Gander International Airport. The Town’s docking facilities are second to none in Newfoundland.

Geographically and centrally situated in Newfoundland and Labrador, Lewisporte has direct and easy access to all seaports in the province. Lewisporte Harbour is situated on the northeast coast of Newfoundland, 52kms (32 miles) from Gander. Lewisporte’s deepwater port is open year-round, has excellent warehousing facilities for storage of freight, and is the offloading centre for aviation fuel supplied to Gander International Airport. The loading terminal is connected to a tank farm with a total capacity of 95,000,000 litres (24,739,583.3 gallons) in sixteen tanks. Tankers are able to access the port at Lewisporte on a year-round basis.

DRL Coachlines Limited operate a mass transit bus service for passenger and freight, traversing along the Trans Canada Highway, with a terminal located in Lewisporte at the Brittany Inns.
